"I don't believe it was part of a pattern - it looks like nothing in the Schleiger listings (incomplete, I know).  I believe this is not a service dish, but one that was meant solely for decoration, therefore making it a stand-alone piece."

"Haviland usually has the CFH underline GDM marking so you may want to try there alot of the Haviland pieces do not have pattern names so you may have to do some searching for it as for its value it totally depends on the year of the pattern .. how…"

Help in determining value - Haviland hand painted plate

Found this little beauty the other day at a local thrift shop. Great condition, typical CFH/GDM green mark, as well as another mark above in red (see pics) that unfortunately has worn away a bit.  Further, there are 2 stamps pressed into the pottery on the back  One looks like a letter "K" or "R" possibly, and the other is perhaps the number "71" or "16" (depending upon which way you turn the plate.  I was going to keep it, but found an entire limo tea set, and have only so much space ;)…See More

"The shape of the  cup and saucer is a variation the 19th century "Tennis" style. The elongated plate allowed room for both the teacup and a biscuit or even a stylish Edwardian cucumber sandwich. Such sets are also sometimes called…"

"You really need to include a picture from the bottom you piece; a hand drawing is not adequate. Like you, I am skeptical that this cup and saucer were made by Sitzendorf. I have a couple of pieces of turn of the century Sitzendorf, and as you found…"

"I keep stumbling upon the same mark.  The only thing is that the marks for Sitzendorf that I've come across have been 100% blue overglaze.  I'm ready to tear my hair out.  On top of that, almost to a fault, Sitzendorf has…"

Sitzendorf(?) Teacup - Strange shape/stranger mark

I found this odd little teacup at a local thrift store. The mark on the bottom of the cup is Sitzendorf, excepting it isn't blue underglaze, it's a stamp/imprint (see last photo as it's hard to capture on camera). Further, the shape is rather odd, the saucer being a shell shape, and the cup being elongated. Does anyone have any…See More
