John, you ask if this is an art nouveau lamp; can't see enough to say. Can you take some more pictures of the whole light, give dimensions, type of material, etc. The last letter could be a "y" but it could also be a "9" or a "q" or an "r"

Your date is correct, the chairs are ca. 1890 at the time when late Renaissance Revival was hot, and Art Nouveau furniture was creeping in. Although the chairs are not a direct match for yours, you can see the leg styles are similar (note the squa...

Anyone familiar with this name found on the base of an Art Nouveau lamp? Could be the lamp manufacturer or possibly the artist of the figure in the lamp base.

Whoa, I have never seen the crest of Belter chairs painted as they are. You should try to get that removed by a professional back to original. Nice to have a set of 4, though. All you need is a Belter Rosalie sofa to match. Thanks for sharing.

Historically Significant Home Tour - Loch Aerie

Those who collect antiques are often admirers of historic homes - after all, where better to display your favorite collectibles than a beautiful old house?

I recently "crashed" a 6,300 square foot mansion by asking permission of the real estate agent to take a tour and photograph this home and had a great time doing it. I also will be editing and making available a video tour in the coming weeks.

"Loch Aerie"

The home was originally built around 1868 by William Lockwood who had made a substan… Continue

Antique Popularity Trend Analysis
