tomsantiquesetcetera replied to Jessica's discussion Trinket Dish- Any idea what decade it's from? in the group Whadja Find Today
"Colors and flowers-leaves look like 1970s to me. Think of a pencil and emery board or sandpaper. Rub graphite dust into mark, take a close-up pic. Dust will wash off. Welcome to IAO."

How Did You Hear About "I Antique Online"?
About Me
I am very, very new to the world of antiques and vintage. Some of my best childhood memories involve digging in a dirt pile out back of my grandparent's house and discovering old horse shoes, pepsi and coke bottles, tools, etc... The excitement and joy of finding a buried treasure has always stayed with me and it's an interest that I want to delve into and see where it takes me. Although, this time I'd like to stick to auctions, thrift stores and antique flea markets rather than dirt piles.
Tell us about your interest in antiques, collecting and any antique related websites, blogs, businesses.
I'm very interested in the story the item tells and am hoping to gain a greater understanding of history through the treasures I discover. I haven't really settled on a niche yet in regards to want I want to collect. At the moment I'm drawn to mid-century dinnerware, old kitchen utensils, and teak carvings. My house is straight out of 1958 with original metal GE cabinets in the kitchen, so I'm looking to decorate it with some vintage 1950's to 1960's decor.
I have read and understand the Terms of Use and disclaimer section of the website and agree to abide by these terms. Answer yes below.
