"Got a further reply from replacements.com.  They asked me to send the photos a different way, which I did.  Then I heard again from them, saying they don't have what I'm looking for.  Well, at least I know for sure now that…"

"Thank you, Carline!  I hope you are right that I might be able to find a match.  I've gotten my hopes up many times, finding a set that looks to be the exact blank as what I have, only to be disappointed when I maximize the…"

"I have looked at the European ones that I could find, and didn't see the right shape (blank, I think you call it).  I read online that early Nippon were not marked.  I have looked at a lot of Japanese sets and only the ones labeled as…"

"Hi Robert, This chocolate set is Japanese, I'm sure of it, I have had the exact pot but with different decoration and marked.  It is not marked "Nippon", but it was almost certainly made during the Nippon Era…"

"Most items coming from Japan or Nippon were marked.  I do not believe it is Nippon. Looks more European to me. The design was common during the late 1800s, early 1900s."

Chocolate Set

Help!  I wonder if anyone can help me identify the maker or pattern of this chocolate set.  It is a family heirloom, made around 1900 I'm guessing, probably not worth much but a family favorite (and I think it's very pretty). One of the saucers got broken, and I would love to surprise my parents by replacing it.  So far, I've had no luck finding the same pattern online.  Any advice or info you can give me would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!!  --Jean…See More
