"Vicki, your lure is a South Bend Super Snooper. It was made from 1950-1952. The SB books has the value at $10-20, in excellent condition."

"Frank, thanks for the offer. Your lures are called Flatfish. They don't have much value, except to fish with. They have made millions of them. Some of the earlier wooden ones are collectable. Even the wooden ones that are new in the two piece…"

Jason G replied to Artorable's discussion Is there any MONEY in fishing collectibles? in the group Up a Creek Fishing Collectibles
"The highest documented amount paid for a single lure was $101,000 at a well known auction. I have heard that the lure has changed hands a couple of times since then and is probably worth several times that now."

"I don't fish with the old stuff. There are people that do. Mostly with old beat up lures, aka beaters. Crab Wigglers probably caught fish of all sizes and species."

"Advice for a new collector. Buy lots of books. There are many on old lures and their values. The values vary so much from book to book, that they should only be used for identification. Find your lure in a book and then look for more info on the…"

"My first lure was a Heddon Crab Wiggler. It was like the lures on the right hand side, in the second picture, on my page. My sister paid a couple of bucks for it. The book said it was worth $75-100. In the condition I ended up getting it in, it…"

Frank, thanks for the offer. Your lures are called Flatfish. They don't have much value, except to fish with. They have made millions of them. Some of the earlier wooden ones are collectable. Even the wooden ones that are new in the two piece cardboard boxes are not worth more than $20, in general. I am sure that some of the stranger colors would bring more than that. I would throw them in your tackle box and take them fishing. Jason
