"I would say it would do the job, looks like it would be a bit rough on a carpet and maybe the floor. Since replaced by grabbers with MUCH smaller pins and anchors that press on the baseboards. Most carpet layers use "knee kickers" nowadays."

"If those are "clock springs" I see poking out I suspect it is a suspension device to take the weigh of a tool like on an assembly line, to prevent operator fatigue. Spring balancers they call them today."
