Before we opened Hourglass Antiques & Collectibles, we were collectors for 25 years. My husband collected decoys, pocket knives, and straight razors. As a kid he had comic book and mineral collections. I collected dog figurines and stamps as a child, and as an adult fell in love with Steiff teddy bears and vintage blue & white china.

In the early 1930’s a timid young sign painter and would-be commercial artist in New York City became enamored with all types of sports figures who were popular during this period. After a day’s work and on weekends, he would retire to his room in his parent’s home and go to work at his drawing board. I hope when you get comfortable here you will take the time to post some photos of your collection(s), join as many groups as you like (click on Groups at the top of your page) , make some friends, customize your profile page (easy templates provided), write an article, make an announcement on our main forum (main page) or post in any of the specialty group forums. Be sure to visit Whadja Find (tell others what you found) and also visit the Antique Market Place.(where you can sell antiques, collectibles, art.

By the way....each group has its own forum and also a comment wall (like a bulletin board). Forums help keep the threads (topics) organized. You are always welcome to start a new forum in any group. The Main forum is for general announcements for the whole community.
