Come Sit a Spell...in a Vintage Metal Lawn Chair

Don’t you just love old chippy metal lawn chairs? They just ooze with memories of days gone by and represent a host of story telling sessions. This past week, I was the happy recipient of two old chairs – a piece of local history that had served well and still offered an invitation to come sit a…

Collecting Longaberger Pottery

We all know Longaberger is the source of high quality baskets. The “basket” story began in 1919, when J.W. Longaberger took a job with the Dresden Basket Factory in Dresden, Ohio and subsequently started his…

Antiquing Online

Even before my mother’s unexpected passing in 2006, I had talked to her about joining up with her antique knowledge and vast inventory in her antique and collectible store to share a website where we could share experiences and questions and make friends with collectors and dealers everywhere. With no internet experience herself, mom was reluctant but the dream didn’t go…

Antiques and Collectibles ~ To LIve Again

There is a strong trend going on in the Antique and Collectible world: repurposing. Actually, the dictionary and spell checker don’t even know what it is yet. :) But, believe me it’s alive and well. Perhaps another word to describe the trend could be reincarnation. For antiques and collectibles have the opportunity to come back to live again in…

Thank you. I have not found an adequate forum to brag about my project...until now. My wife and I are antique dealers and we are remodeling our entire home in "Texas Hill-Country Cottage". I think we may have coined that phrase. I'll keep checking back for ideas and perhaps some purchases...and updates.

Thanks for your welcome, Ellene!  I wish I were an expert!  The more I collect, though, the more research I do.  It's fun to learn about the tea cups and saucers I collect!  Someday, I hope to actually remember half of the information I read!  Ha!  :)

Thanks, Ellene, for the nice compliment on my red and green kitchen collectible shelves. I have 2 booths at the Duck Creek Antique Mall in Cincinnati; one devoted entirely to kitchen collectibles. It's so much fun!

Thanks Ellene for the welcome to the Cottage group.  I'll have to see what I have and post some pictures.   I like the idea that you posted about using vintage silver, it adds a nice touch of bling.
