Hi Vicki! Do you have any idea of value? What about the Coro bracelet, and the rhinestone one?

Hi Diane, Didn't get this post. Your birthstone charm bracelet looks c. 1970's. Your lucite pin dates from the 1940's into the 60's - very collectible. Cowboy looks 50's to me. Not sure on the other charm bracelet.

Hi Kim! They are lovely pieces! Do you have a jewelers loop? I bought one in town for around $18.00, and I can look for any marks on jewelry pieces now. Really handy! Can anyone help me with the costume jewelry I posted discussions on above?

It's a mystery to me too! It looks like it has a flower pattern cut into the top of the green stone! Really lovely!

Hi! I'm sorry I missed your comment the last time I checked in! Possibly the ones you didn't clean had starch and caused the staining. Do you have a very clean cotton, or muslin fabric in the drawer, and maybe around your linens? That would protect…

At long last vacation time for me, but I can't leave those antique malls alone! :O)

It's been ages since I've been on the blog...I know I'm just terrible! I was at the point of computer overload! LOL All work and very little 'play' made me a very grumpy gal!
My hubby and I are in Houston, Tx., staying three nights at the Hyatt Place Hotel; tonight's our last night. :O( I'm using the hotel PC to blog. (We'll be coming back here again, as we were treated like royalty! It's a three star hotel, but the staff are super nice! My hubby luvs the HD channels on the wide screen T.V. It's… Continue

'Going Green' With Estate Sales...

I'm finding myself wanting to expand on comments I'm leaving on friends' blogs today!
I find that there are more people attending estate sales, and the line ups are horrendous!!! More people are watching their money, so it isn't just antique 'pickers' like myself who are attending. More people are furnishing their homes with vintage.
Due to the economy, I think more people are 'going green' without realizing it. For example, I've seen a young couple looking for furniture for their apartment, and… Continue

My Handmade Vintage Jewelled Photo Frames ~ Beautiful & Sparkling! They Can Be Yours To Treasure!

Recently, I have been getting back to my 'crafty' side! I have started creating my Vintage Jewelled Photo Frames. These first two vintage wooden frames came from a local estate sale. I found them during one of my treasure hunts! One of them has a photo of a very young Robert Taylor, who was a prevalent leading man in the motion picture industry. The photo of him in the one frame, appears to be from the late 1930's to 1940's.
The other picture frame was empty, so I printed the image of a vintage… Continue

Thanks for the warm welcome Diane. Yes, I am a member of the VTL club. My heart beats fast every time I open the sellers page and find a new tablecloth or towel report...truly a sickness! I sometimes get lost in cyberspace trying to navigate through blogs and web pages but have made a committment to try to get back to working my way through them. I have just restarted my blog and reopened my etsy shop. Hopefully I can keep it all going along with my ebay. Thanks again and I look forward to hanging out w/fellow linen lovers!

Thanks for the comments on my pics. Re: the WWII pics, I am working on a booklet on Collectibles of the WWI and WWII Workbasket Campaigns. I hope to complete it by the latter part of next year. I will post a blog on iantiqueonline.com containing a greatly abridged version of the book, prior to publishing the book. Regards, Karen

Happy Thanksgiving Diane, I'm sorry I have not yet responded to your question about the industrial weaving spool. I looked at it, looks pretty standard to me, but I still have to research my book. However, I have other priorities I have to attend to first. I promised to post some pics of sewing machine covers on my page for some treadle sewing machine collectors. I will tell you book info and whether I find anything after I have posted those pics. Regards, Karen

Hi there!! There is wood flooring under the flooring. I havent lifted it up yet to see the condition but if its as good in the closet as it is in the bedroom I'm reallyyyyy excited!!! I just love my old house!

It depends how the condition is. If they are undamaged maybe 30.00 each?
Ebay may not get that much because there is so much available on there and the market for middle of the road type shakers is somewhat flat but who knows.

Hi,
Nice to hear from you! Your shakers are made by Consolidated Lamp & Glass late 1800s. The pattern is called"Fish" in a pink cased glass. Nice examples!

Hey Diane, I hope the funeral was not too traumatic for you. You take care. I mostly collect hand-textile tools and only collect 5 actual, very specific, textile categories: aprons that were meant to be worn while doing needlework, sewing machine stitch-sample mini-aprons, crochet samplers, hankies/scarves with sewing themes, and sewing machine scarves for treadle sewing machines. I am not sure what you mean by weaving machine spool. I assume you mean the (usually) large spools used by industrial weaving machines, although sometimes spools are used in handweaving. I do not know a lot about either type, but I have a few and I have a book on industrial spools. However, if I remember correctly, the book is NOT very comprehensive. You said you would list it on your website, do you mean here? Or do you have a separate website? You may not be able to date it, but if we can determine what mill used the spool you may be able to learn more. Are there any markings on the spool? Once I see a picture I will tell you if I can tell you anything about the spool. Regards, Karen
