I am leaning to a Scottish Rite Masonic item. In Imperial emblems the eagle carries the scepter and orb. It is the imperial emblem of the Hapsburgs, Russia, Serbia, among others. The eagle in the ink blotter simply shows a crown above. The double he…

Hi there, The double headed eagle was a prominent device in heraldry. Several Eastern European countries adopted the symbol, most notably Russia (courtesy of Wikipedia). If you go to Wiki. you will find a list of countries that commonly used this de…

Purchased this at an auction. I liked the look of it. The crest kind of reminded me of the House of Usher's family crest. I did a general research on the double headed crowned bird and came up with roots in spanish culture, russian and scottish. I h…

I love the local WPBS Auction

I am so bad when it comes to auctions. They are so fun, but sometimes I tend to get a little competitive. It is all well though, it goes to benefit PBS television.
Anyhoo, here are the items I won. I will not post the prices, in case my husband comes across this. ;)

Waiting................

It always seems to take forever when you are waiting to hear a decision back. We made our first offer on our first house today. It is already at an excellent price, but we are hoping to get it even lower. I am already searching for corbels to add along the roof and deciding on paint colors.

Hiya Crystal, thanks for the invite.

Unfortunately, you may be closer to Brockville then Brockville is to Cambridge.
We're about 5 hours drive to Brockville.... sigh. niice area, though.

Perhaps as nice as the view from your home (is that your home "reno" project in your pictrues?).
Is that the view of the St. Lawrence river from your backyard.
If so, write me in for a barbeque sometime this summer, that view's amazing, and you caught it on such a sunny day :-)
cheers.
