being 12 inches long I would think it might be a part of a curtain tieback, the hollow metal cap would attach to a "C" shaped pc with a mounting plate on one end. just a guess with out picture Craig Phillips B & C Emporium http://www.b-c-e.biz

About Me
Hi I am Craig Phillips, I own B & C Emporium Original and Reproduction hardware, we stock original and reproduction hardware, chair caning, seating supplies, lamp & Trunk parts, cleaners & polishes, as well as antique furniture, and accessories.

I have been in my current building since Oct. 1981, this is my 3rd location, My father & I have done antique shows since 1969, we were doing bottles at that time, then we ventured in to antique cars & tractors, then furniture and smalls, I had a production refinishing shop, along with a retail store, so I left the guys run the shop and went to the retail side, they thought they knew it all, and destroyed a couple expensive pieces that were for my friends and I said I am done, in 1980 we had started to stock a little reproduction hardware, and that was growing as we were doing shows 4-5 per month around the midwest. Now I am just doing our local show Allegan antique show, it has about 400 vendors, and a really nice show, our retail store and web site http://www.b-c-e.biz

I also do chair caning, rushing, & Old hickory splint work as well, we also do some lamp repairs.

I belong to our local Historic society, and on its board. The society has a village an I have run the blacksmith shop, and now I run the woodworking shop, it is only open the 9 days of our county fair starts the Friday after Labor day here in Allegan, Michigan

I also do some custom furniture building.

check out our Furniture web site http://www.woodlandtradingcompany.com

and our town promo site http://www.onlyoneallegan.com

We live right in the heart of the lake O'fect snow belt, so when you see all that lovely white stuff on the map, in lower Michigan your usually looking right where I live. My swmbo is Lori Weems.

Craig - Was it you who mentioned you had old Sears and Monkey Ward catalogues? Don't guess you have the one with the infamous "Man on page 409". I remember visiting my (prudish) mother and telling her about it. She never threw away ANYTHING. She jumped up, got out her old catalogues - and, there he was. I think that was in the mid 70s, though.

Hello Craig; Nice to meet you, another Michiganian. 'Michigander' is a derisive term Abraham Lincoln used for Michiganians. lol. I found this out and have to pass it on to fellow Michiganians. Am looking forward to seeing your items. Thanks!
