About Me
I bid as "cjygudwin". My name is Cory Gudwin, I'm a medical doctor living in downtown Boston and I have a rapidly growing collection of good Chinese antiques, currently around 3500 pieces I'm hopelessly addicted to this stuff and everyone around me thinks I've lost my mind. I became interested in these objects as a child because our next door neighbor/babysitter/surrogate-grandmother was an elderly woman who had lived in Shanghai with her executive husband from 1919-1931 and had brought back a museum-worthy collection of Chinese bronzes including large vessels, mirrors, belt hooks, etc. Her descendants later sold the very best pieces to Arthur Sackler. Most are now on public display in Washington, DC. I was given a few coins from the collection including a couple of early Spades. I' m amazed that it is still possible to aquire these objects, but the proof clutters my apartment. I feel tremendously privileged to be their temporary caretaker and they bring me genuine pleasure. Anyway, that is a bit of my story.
I have read and understand the Terms of Use and disclaimer section of the iantiqueonline.com website and agree to abide by these terms. Answer yes below.

always buying and selling good quality chinese antiques

I currently sell about 500 Chinese pieces annually via Skinner Auctioneers. These pieces are sold twice yearly at the Asian specialty sales in October and April. If you buy at those sales you may have a piece of mine in your collection. You may make an appointment with me to view the collection in downtown Boston and buy or sell.

Hi Cory,

I have been referred to you by Tom's Antiques.  Could you take a look at the posting I recently made for a Dragon Face Axe.  It appears to be asian and does have several symbols.  It is very unusual to say the least.  I was told it was made out of Jade when I bought it and Tom felt it was also based on the pictures.  Can you help?

Thanks,

Sonny Lane
