Gustav Holgersen

I am looking for a painter named Gustav Holgersen. He is a Danish painter who is allegedly known all around the world. He was born 1900 and died 1986.

If anyone knows anything about this guy please help

Hey Barbara, well what I can tell you about the chair is that its called a shield back chair. These were originally made during the Federal period in the Hepplewhite style. The period pieces were made between I'd say the 1790's to the first decade of 1800. My chair is in fact period. Due to the amount of wear on the chair, the way it was constructed, and the tools used to make it, I can be confident that it is authentic. Ummm, that is pretty much all I can tell ya, if you have anymore question let me know!

I hope when you get comfortable here you will take the time to post some photos of your collection(s), join as many groups as you like (click on Groups at the top of your page) , make some friends, customize your profile page (easy templates provided), write an article, make an announcement on our main forum (main page) or post in any of the specialty group forums. Be sure to visit Whadja Find (tell others what you found) and also visit the Antique Market Place.(where you can sell antiques, collectibles, art.

By the way....each group has its own forum and also a comment wall (like a bulletin board). Forums help keep the threads (topics) organized. You are always welcome to start a new forum in any group. The Main forum is for general announcements for the whole community.
