The front has a great old look but the back is suggesting machine made.
My wife is a weaver and one more picture showing the back of the selvage edge may give us more information.
Hi Anne,
Thanks for viewing my tapestry.
It is one of my favourite things. I love classical and barock-Rococo art.
If I don't mistaken, our tapestries come from Belgium or Italian.If it came from Italy I supposed from one village somewhere in Italy. And it was handmade but nowadays some of the old people who produced it didn't produced it anymore.
So lucky for you to have such a gorgeous tapestry in your collection of art.
But in my country it is very rare to find such a lovely piece of tapestry.I usually got them from friends who came visiting Indonesia
Bless you Anne and have a nice day :-}
Hope to hear from you soon
regards,
Suryawan
Sure, I remember you. I moderate the fishing collectible group here.
(Oralei hi,and I wish I was familiar with alot of artists, as I am one myself. I know I do alot of research and reading of books I own about artist Van Gough, Michaelangeleo, DaVincieand Dali. I respect that they all chose and painted religious subjects-The Madonna-Sisteen chapel bible subjects-etc.I would die to own an origional from any one of those guys..But we can never know what blessings a day may bring... )
