SHOW US YOUR STUFF will work like the old days when you brought  something you cherished or were excited about to school, to share with the class. We wanted to offer a group for you to SHOW US your own special finds of antiques,  collectibles and art which are NOT for sale.

1. You may post as many pictures as you like.

2. Items posted can not be for sale. These are the items you are keeping!

3. Please do not post items from other sites or selling venues such as eBay or Craigslist.

4. You must own the antiques, collectibles or art.

5. Please not only SHOW us but also TELL us about the photo you are sharing.

6. Use the group Whadja Find for questions about identifying and evaluating the item you have posted.  Remember we also have a group called Crazy About My Collection for photos about collections.

7. Do not use this group for promotion, advertising or linking to other selling venues. Photos can not have names or advertising super imposed on the photos. Stick to the purpose of this group.

8.  The editor and others will be monitoring this group very closely. We reserve to right to remove any content including photos that violates our terms of agreement when you signed up to be a member of this community or are not consistent with the guidelines of this group as stated.

My mother said this belonged to her father. Gramps was born in 1903, so if he had this as a child, it likely dates to the second decade of the 20th Century. A still ceramic bank shaped like a sash register. It measures 4" tall at the back and 3" across. No marks. Too bad it's chipped and cracked. i surmise Gramps tried to get the money out of it at some point and damaged it.

The first photo is a  sent on tiny Toby mugs (tallest is 1.5") made out of painted chalk or plaster (they flake easily). The other very small single mug was made by Royal Doulton and is called "The Cardinal".

Master Violet Ray - a quack medicine gadget from bygone years. Looks like something from a sci-fi or horror movie. Mine still works! It came with various "attachments" for use on different areas of the body. The brochure tells how to us it and how to order more attachments.

A few years ago I went to an MD, Internist, who examined my arms and muscles; x-rayed them, ran tests, discussed with other doctors. He advised surgery.

I was dating a lady whose mother was a "quack doctor". She had one of those machines and she ran some tests on me, for FREE. She wrote out the names of some herbs, which I took, and 2 weeks later the problem disappeared.

Because we don't understand the machine doesn't mean it doesn't work.  I can't fly an airplane either.

Speaking of "Quack" machines and gadgets - I used to find a lot of them around here - Detroit area. I haven't seen one in years?

I also sold one to a collector on ebay - I didn't really know what the heck it was, still not sure -  LOL Anyway, the poor man writes me back and tells me that what I sold him was only a "part" of said quackery machine? I posted pics - I guess he thought there was more to it?

In any case, as fate would have it, the next week I found another one - exact same - with all the parts! for about $3! I wrote my disappointed fellow and told him I'd give it to him if he would pay shipping - he did - all ended well!

(Of course this was in the "good ole days of ebay")

One never knows what a day will bring in our crazy business! I suspect that's why we all love it so much! :)
