Hi,
I just joined and am feeling my way around. I am not an antique dealer, more of a creater of Cottage and Shabby items, but I sell quality vintage items such as china and fine linens when I am lucky enough to run across these items at Estate Sales and Flea Markets. I am very picky! I often offer a pretty antique plate with roses, of course, with my sachets, or embellished towel sets.

I never mind steering a client to another shop where they are apt to find what they are looking for. I believe and hope, that they will remember me for that kindness and good business practice.

I totally agree with you...its amazing however how many people keep their businesses isolated...as if sharing info about other businesses will hurt them....as you pointed out the opposite is true....networking is what it is all about. Establish a neighborly attitude...it pays off.
