A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Hi all, I have this Zamy Stenovitz original watercolor(I think), one of a set of 2 similar 'Paris' collection. His art has dropped in value but was wondering what it may be worth. He has scads of prints out there which used to be 1-2k signed, now maybe 20--500 though some try for more.

My local auction gallery estimated just 250-500 for mine which is an original, not a serigraph. His originals used to be listed 5000-15000 in galleries but today...? Thanks.

I just got myself signed up for a subscription at artprice.com. It was on sale so I went for it. I've got over a dozen painting I have NO clue on, lol So Hoping to figure some of those out too.

I tried to paste a link of results here, but the site blocks it, grrr. So the highest estimate on one is: $5000 to $7000 and went unsold, so did another two of them, where estimates were: $407 and $379. The sold ones went for:

$300, $80 and & $475 - all of the above were watercolors.

Looking at the wide variety of his work, I noticed that it said his color palette was I bit muted in the earlier years.  I think your piece seems like "of that time"...IMO...the first link shows I wide range of unnamed originals for $300....but the second link shows the crazy range of prices for various forms of his work...perhaps you can narrow it down from here.

Thanks, I think he was hot when he passed away and faded since then, so to speak. His brother runs his estate and gets 150. just for an authentication certificate.

I checked eBay, watercolors, signed, SOLD.  Two (2) found, 1 at $300.00 and 1 at $305.

I checked current listings, all types.  Lowest asking $20., highest (seen) $3,000.  I looked at 1 page; there are 8 more pages not viewed.

llive auctioneer one sold for 6500

And ebay has a ton for 300ish, bizarre.
