I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

Hi,
I am wondering if you can help me with a vintage Bamboo fly rod I have, I am trying to get info on it
It has a tag "Made in Japan Yamano", in a wood box, 5 rod pieces (3 which are rod with tips) each approx 33" long.
Can anyone provide info on it? Value, etc..
Thank you

(This was on Craigslist and I thought maybe someone wanted to share their knowledge with this man.  I will give him any feedback provided.)

Modern, many for sale on line. Avg price (new) with case which includes reel (which you are missing) $19.99 USD. Without reel, $10.00 estimated value. https://ontariofishing.com/Rods-Japan-Bamboo/

Yamano is a city in Japan, where this is made.  In your pics, I only see one length with a tip, the others have eyelets near the connection. Test by pulling the metal couplers/tips to make sure they're not loose; likewise check the wrappings that hold the eyelets to the rod. If cut, broken or loose rod is worthless. Would cost more to repair than value.

Thanks Tom,

I passed along the information you provided to the man asking.
