what kind /type of glass is this? it is Tuthill glass, but what used for?

I think it's too delicate for holding nuts.

It's very thin and delicate

Hard to say if it's ABP from pictures alone. Tuthill ABP patterns are available online free, but I didn't see this design. Tuthill also produced other types of drink or eating ware.

The large foot indicates the glass is for eating, not drinking. Sherbet (Vicki),  Ice cream, rice pudding, custard, fruits, Jello, tapioca, or whatever you want.  Usually they come in sets of 2, 4, 6, or more.
