A very similar watch made by the same "Hampden Watch Company" is shown on the Internet for sale by a member of Etsy. Their listing describes their watch as being silver tone but also describes the material as Sterling silver. I'd assume that their watch is not actually Sterling Silver. They describe the date of their watch as being 1891 but I don't know whether they actually traced the date from the numbers stamped onto the internal watch works. This is another website that shows the serial number of these watches from 1877 to 1927:
Although in pristine condition, with slight variances, I found a watch quite similar to yours here.
This person on eBay, link to his watch above, is selling the same kind of watch as your Hampden, for $65USD, it is not in as good condition, given the engraving on the back is pretty much worn away on his.
