I found this at my mothers house after she passed away in 2005.  It has a mirror on the front.  The handle unscrews and has a pointy end, which can be put through a hole on the back.  I thought it might unscrew the back of the mirror, but either it is sealed due to erosion with age or it isnt supposed to be used for that.  It is very ornate..... i have passed it onto friends and relatives to they can identify it.  I thought it might be made by a hippy in the 60’s to drive their stoner friends crazy...and ended up in my mothers junk drawer to drive her kids nuts.....

The pointy thing that unscrews: The "point" looks like something was twisted, bent and flexed until it broke off leaving just the point. Or not. Some hand mirrors have hinges so they can be set on a flat surface.  Others have hinges that attach to a wall or another mirror so one can see the backside of their head, back, elbow, etc. Could be that yours had a hinge; now missing. Can't find anything on  line.
