looks like a silver overlay glass vase to me (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver_overlay) i have had many pieces and they can be as old as the late 1800's right the much younger .. you may even be able to find your design on other pieces just research silver overlay glass

Looks more like a Pilsner beer glass. How many fluid ounces does it hold? 8, 10, 12 or 16 could be for beer. Is the rim or base marked? If silver-plated it would look nicer if it was polished.

Original would have had a label.

Rhodium is much harder and will not tarnish at all, but aside from being expensive it is also a little bit gray compared to silver. They would plate a very thin layer of rhodium on top of the silver.
