Never seen a sewing machine drawer with a nozzle on the bottom.

Was this used to feed thread to a machine  ?

The ONLY thing that comes to mind for me is MAYBE a thread dispenser??

Some drawers had a drop bar that locked lower drawers. It was accessed through a locked upper drawer. Or maybe the drawer had a lock on it and what you say is a nozzle is where the latch formerly was situated. There also appears to be a hole beneath the drawer pull,  perhaps for a key lock, now missing.
