Found a pair of silver earrings shaped like cowboy hats, marked: NF925.
Research indicates NF stands for "nickel free". Apparently some people have allergic reactions to nickel and therefore none is included in the 7.5 remainder that is not silver. 925 is 92.5% pure silver, aka Sterling silver.
i have come across this once but not since
I used to cruise many of our local thrift shops and consignment shops and years ago found this very exotic gemstone in an 830 silver setting; I assumed that this was made overseas and I'd never researched it but just found this information on Wikipedia: The Scandinavian silver alloy is marked 830 and contains 83% pure silver and 17% copper or other metals. I'd never had this examined or professionally appraised and if it were to be a diamond (not likely) I'll be stopping by my local Porsche dealer however if it's glass or quartz (guaranteed more likely) I'll keep my current vehicles.
