Hi all, I picked up a set of 2 metal embedded in plaster moose and ram figurines today. Numbered and with 'International Art Society' marks, I thought I'd find some online but not a thing, any help? Thanks,
pics to follow...
Well, So Zero Ziltch and Notta is what I've came up with! Maybe Molly can locate something/anything on this "artist"?
What I did find is a strange Twitter account with "Int'L Art Society" with NO location or anything really, with the last post being from 2017.
Here is the link: https://twitter.com/IntlArtSociety
Thanks for the effort, about what I found also.
I got off on a tangent. Found Gordon Merrill (German name)... who dropped his last and middle names and became Gordon Scott, a muscle man/actor who played Tarzan for 5 yrs in the 1950s...
After reading about him, (interesting read) I figured out he is not the same person!
International Art Society.com website is for sale for under $3,000. Was $27,000. IAS has been around over 100 years. They showcase artist's works worldwide. Couldn't find Merrill as a Director or sculptor.
I 2nd Vicki's findings; nada, nyet, nuthin'.
I found the International Art Society to be a "Detroit" venture.
Sounds like a shell corp from the Blacklist.
