I am confused.  I see leather in the center and on the bottoms as a guard...but when you turn them around it is only mesh with something attached in the center?  Are you showing two different pairs?

Sorry. I mistakenly added a photo from a different pair of glasses.

So are you curious about the leather glasses?  The ones with the mesh sides are antique safety glasses or welders glasses, as stated.

Both the leather and the wire mesh glasses are old welders safety glasses.  Although there are numerous extremely similar designs, I've seen various different makers of this style of safety glasses.

Here's one on sold on Etsy.

And, the ones Michael has shown you have the distinctive mark on them you were asking about, according to the description.  Match made.

Well, no, the glasses in the example I gave have a number 8 inside a circle with a capital D next to it.  The glasses Llyod has shown are made by American Optical.  American Optical have the A overlapping and slightly offset on the O.
