Please can anyone help identify this chair? I would like to know what wood it's made from and also where in the world they were made.
I have an idea they might be Chinese but I'm not sure they are very heavy

These two chairs are from the Victorian era.  I know their are not exactly the same, but I noticed a lot of the woven serpentine style wood is flat, were as these were raised and rounded.  The wood on yours reminds me of old walnut, but I am no expert on wood.  I will keep trying to help.  I could not get a maker on either one...Pinterest photos are taking over the world.

This one is Irish Georgian...but I am sure you knew that.  ;)

Thank you for trying to help... although the carving in your first picture is similar, it's the seat base that makes me think it's Chinese.
The chairs are much too heavy to be walnut they are very weighty and I only know of one wood that is as heavy and that is teak. I'm sure there are many more but I don't know of them.
I appreciate your help, it's very kind of you to spend time on research
