They don't have a makers mark or any marks that indicate the materials so probably not silver or gold. Without a mark, they could be newer with an aged look because they weren't well cared for.
What did the person who sold it to you say about it? Or is it a family heirloom? What do you know about it?
There are no makers mark these were purchased in a large bag of vintage jewelry. I don't know anything about them that's the reason I requested some info about them.
Since no one else had replied to your post, I thought I would offer what little I can. Sometimes, with provenance, I can point a person in the right direction.
You must think there is something special about it if you pulled it from an entire bag of vintage jewelry and posted it... care to share your thoughts?
They are unusual and appear to be very old.
Last night I found several sites on vintage and antique cufflinks and I was in the process of copying them over and got a phone call. Long story, short, by the time I was free those pages were long gone... but I'll bet you can find the same if you type "vintage antique cufflinks" "how to date cufflinks" "cufflink styles through history" -- in the google address bar. So sorry I didn't copy before I lost them.
Thanks for the information I will.
