These are 5.5 inches across, 3 inch projection and 3.5 inch across the extensions that look to be where the mounting screws would go. I purchased these at an estate sale and know nothing of their history. Any help identifying would be greatly appreciated.

Is it magnetic?  Looks like cast iron, painted brass color with green and light red (coral). Those colors are found on early (1890s-1920s) ceiling or chandelier lights. You are missing most of the light fixture. I'd guess there were 4, 5 or 6 like yours that bolted onto a central piece and hung from the ceiling.

This is totally a guess.  Can't find any pic to back up what I'm saying.

I was visualising a wall mounted, or singular pole mounted light fixture, but still a light fixture strangely enough.  Then Tom's suggestion sounded more feasible, so upon further searching, I found it, a restored 1930's three light chandelier from Gill Glass Co.

Harris House Art

Title: Gill Glass Company Light Fixture - Description: 1930s Art Deco three light ceiling fixture by the Gill Glass Co. Original polychrome finish in antique gold, red and green on elaborate cast frame plus three bowl style glass shades with finials.

Thank you so much for your help. Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back.
