I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

While out metal detecting (Madison Wi) in the 90's I found this along the shore near a beach. It looks like a copper alloy and I made a mistake of cleaning it. It is about the size of a nickle.  It came from a billiard hall across the street from Wisconsin's capitol. The building that housed the billiards burnt down March 29, 1879. I have found a diamond ring, gold items, silver items and other various items but this token is my favorite piece.

Thank you, very interesting.

A link to the Madison fire...

St. Julien Hotel, Madison, Wisc. late 1800s. Nice Find! The T.M. on your token stands for Thomas Morgan, the Proprietor at the time.

Cool, thank you.
