not sure if it classifies as a foo dog.

The yin yang symbol is extremely well known these days.

The 6 rows of horizontal lines is the I Ching Hexagram 34 named 大壯 (dà zhuàng), "Great Invigorating". Other variations include "the power of the great" and "great maturity". Its inner trigram is ☰ (乾 qián) force = (天) heaven, and its outer trigram is ☳ (震 zhèn) shake = (雷) thunder.  I am not sure why FENG is written above it.

The concentric circular pattern I am not familiar with.

thank you

And Yin/Yang is Korean so perhaps from there.

I would guess Japanese, and I would call him a Dragon. "Feng" may indicate "Feng Shui" - A Japanese way of decorating that is supposed to promote "good energy" and etc...

It's a white clay, (Kaolin - Japan is known for having a fine type of this clay) that is completely hand modeled, ie.. little or no mold used. The artist is talented, but is likely a "studio potter" which makes it very difficult to ID.

He's a cool little guy!

thank you
