Background on this company

I googled the name but came up empty.

Does anyone recognize this company name or can suggest a web site where I can post photos to get some assistance ?

It may have something to do with the Volpe brothers of Pittsburgh. They were heavily involved in the mafia/bootlegging.

The Volpes of Pittsburgh arrived in 1901. Another group came in 1943 after Fascism ended in Italy; they were wine makers. Your jug is dated 1943 which leads me to believe they were not in the mafia but most likely were related.

"Volpe" is "fox" in Itallian. Their wine was "auburn colored" made with white grapes from So. Italy.
