This is very odd as it seems to be base metal but there are stamps, too tiny for me to read. It seems well-made but why go to the trouble? Also why stamp base metal? Can you help? TIA :)

Rare? Buyer Beware! At this writing (3/8/20) I count 6, including yours, for sale/auction. The "boar's head" mark is French, but several say Portuguese. Most say 1900; my guess is 3rd world reproduction, 2015-Present. Some are listed as "base metal" (yours), "Solid silver", "Sterling, and ".833". Asking prices are:  Yours-not shown, $151., $50., $254., $98., $75. USD.

Caveat Emptor.
