You can see the E if you look closely.  The rest of the M and the S, along with the E were probably just rubbed off during the past 100 years.  Either way, I was just referring to the LOGO or MARK of the word ADAMS, with the squared off As, etc.  That if you could locate something with THAT type of print it would narrow down which ADAMS it was.

Have no clue, huh? Today you say it's for sand casting!  Wow, yer right.  Molly, here is Adams logo (my link). Guess it's not for cameras, nor was it used by Ansel Adams...

Michael, now you know why I said what I did about withholding info...
