I Antique Online

A Community For People Who Buy, Sell or Collect Antiques, Collectibles and Art

I have aquired a tablecloth by Weir, from Austria, whth colorful scenes of Vienna. There are several crests with names of the small towns, and it is printed on heavy, textured cloth. I can find no date on it, or any way to authenticate if it is original, or a reproduction. Would welcome any comments or advice, thank you

Hi Chris,

Your cloth looks vintage to me.  I'm not sure of the exact decade though.  A reproduction will usually have hems on all four sides.  Most vintage cloths have two selvedge edges where the fabric is reinforced with the thread .  It is a souvenir from Vienna.

Thank you, would you have any idea of it's value? I do not collect, I only try to sell items I come across to supplement my income.  chris
