Sock Darners are a fun sewing collectible and handy to have around when you wear holes in those favorite pair of socks.  Here is one with a lovely turned wood handle and bearing a delightful red paint color - loaded with character from lots of use but still just as useful today as 100 years ago.  Currently for sale at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: Red Sock Darner

Lillian thanks for posting these interesting stringing kits.

Going by the hair styles of the women depicted on these necklace re-stringing kits, maybe from the 40s or 50s. One had written on the cellophane sleeve 15¢. The others are in a wax paper sleeve - I removed these to take another photo and show the thread and needle used.

Hi I have just posted a new group called RETRO ANGEL NETWORK to share charitable projects that our members  are involved with. I  just posted several sewing themed good deed ideas. Please join our group and add projects that you may be aware of that are helping others across this country. And also share your ideas and pictures. Just had to share what I think is a wonderful idea and pretty way to organize & display your old lace & trims.  Just saw this in a book this morning and loved it.  Attaching the lace strips to old wood textile bobbins and standing them on a shelf, makes it easy to see what you have and a terrific display for your sewing center.  I need a few more bobbins....sorry none left at the moment for sale :(

Some very pretty vintage FLOWER DESIGN Mother of Pearl buttons that would be a nice addition to a collection, use for restoration of garments or a vintage craft project.  Available at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: Mother of Pearl Flower Buttons

Hi everyone, i have a question does anyone know how to find a value for vintage adjustable dress forms, i recently came into 6 of them for sure maybe 8 if we can find the leg stands . Also i have been very lucky lately and have been given a wonderful chance to help sell a estate from a costume designer,, racks and racks of costumes, 20-30 large boxes of vintage patterns, rooms and rooms of bolts of vintage fabric, and many
Large boxes of lace and trim some quite old. This will be an enormous undertaking and one i will be searching for much advise on. So if you have some please feel free to share with me. If your looking for something maybe i can help find it thru this process. I have spent the last 27 hrs measuring out vintage trims, and lace. I needed to step away haha and here i am talking about it. Its hard to shut it off at this point
