Amazing, the ideas folks had in this time period. This is a unique idea! Thanks for sharing. Susan
Thank you Susan for your comment.  Yes sewing was a very important skill during the 19th century and they had beautiful precious sewing tools and equipment.  There was often as much effort put into making a pin cushion to hold pins, as there was in making the textile by using the pins.  I have a deep appreciation for the women of that time period and the beautiful needlework that they produced.
Thank you, I feel the same, I have always loved antique to vintage sewing notions. I owned a fabric store at one time carrying antique items along with the fabrics and laces. It was such fun. I still love the pin cushions and sewing birds, I have a couple sewing birds, it took me years to figure out what a "sewing bird" was, some one had found a few in a old victorian home they were tearing down and they gave them to me..It literally took over 10 years to locate a person that could advise me on the items. For those who don't know what they are , they are very collectible and at one time you could pay $125.00 for one. I have know idea now what they are valued at or where they are in my collection, probably in a box.. thanks again. Nice Chatting. Susan
