This gorgeous vintage medium weight cotton tablecloth, measures 66" long x 54" wide, a great size for kitchen, or diningroom. Beautiful shades of pink, burgundy, blue/gray, green, and white, on a pretty pink background, are bordered by a burgundy striped, white border. White leaves contrast against gray scalloped ribbons, that loop around the tablecloth, with scattered floral sprays, and a lovely bouquet of flowers adorns each corner. A very romantic inspired, 1950s printed tablecloth!

Comment by Luv2LuvAntiques on May 5, 2012 at 1:47am Hello Tom!
Why don't you start a discussion in the group, about your Calendar Towels, and post a few photos...use the 'image' button and they will show up on the description...it looks so much better! That may 'wet people's interest'! Take care, Diane :O)
Comment by tomsantiquesetcetera on May 5, 2012 at 1:04am Any body collect Calendar Linens (towels)? I have about 35 of them and would love to sell them. Some of them HAD (past tense) brown water stains, but I laundered them and the stains came out. They need to be ironed and spray-starched but that is simple to do.
The stains were caused by a wet (rain) cardboard box in which they were placed at the yard sale where I bought them.
As I recall the dates start in the 1950s and run into the 1980s but not all years are included. I know there were 3 or 4 for the Bi-Centennial, 1976.
Make me an offer I can't refuse. Not interested in selling singles.
Comment by Luv2LuvAntiques on April 27, 2012 at 5:18pm Take a look at the first discussion above, and you will see somemore vintage kitchen towels! :O)

Comment by Luv2LuvAntiques on March 21, 2012 at 6:40pm Hello everyone!
I'm so glad to see so many posts and discussions going! I went into hospital March 8th, had surgery on March 12th, and was released yesterday. Then I had to go to an out patient clinic to set up post op treatment, and get a wheelchair. Today I saw my surgeon, and I'm worn out! LOL
Vicki, I luv the oriental framed 'tapestry'??? It looks too thick (from the photo) to be silk screening. The frame has an Art Nouveau influence don't you think, with the leaves and berries? Maybe 1920's or 1930's? What does everyone think about age?
Lillian, That is very nice lace. Besides edging, it could also have been used as a lace insert near the top of a sheet, with sheet material at the very top. The pillow cases would sometimes also have this insert, or it would be an edging. Your lace looks similar to the lace in one of my vintage sheets! Take care, Diane :O)
Could have been edging for pillow cases also
Comment by Vintage Linens on March 21, 2012 at 2:13pm Hi, Lillian
Maybe they were made for edging on a bedspread or tablecloth.
It does appear to have been woven on a frame - that's whats stumping me? It certainly has age as well, but I just can't find anything quite like it. I just wish I knew if there is a name for this type of Japanese weaving or something?
Thanks Oralei - Mt. Fuji is certainly a good starting point - going to hunt some more - I'll let you know if I find it! Thanks everyone!
Comment by Oralei/Artorable on March 10, 2012 at 11:44pm ...Looks like a nice old frame.
