Comment by Barbara E. Mauzy on January 28, 2012 at 5:43pm Lillian~ Thanks for posting these! Barbara
Sheet music with an African-American theme from the turn-of-the-century (1890s to 1900s, of course).
"Mammy's Little Coal Black Rose" was composed by Raymond Egan and Richard A. Whiting, published in 1916 by Remick Music. It features Al Jolson on the front.
"Mammy's Little Pumpkin Colored Coons: A Plantation Slumber Song" was published in 1897 by Witmark and was written by Hillman and Perrin. Unfortunately, it has a large tear on the front.
Comment by OldStuffNYC on January 9, 2012 at 11:27pm The chair looks like it was made in Europe, Germany or Belgium perhaps. The craftsmanship very much reminds me of furniture I've seen in Europe. Had anyone else similar thoughts?
Comment by Barbara E. Mauzy on January 9, 2012 at 11:15am Deb~ These are great to see. Can you add the dates for each scan and certainly keep the images coming!
