HELP!  I used the hot water test on this bangle and boy does it smell right.

Does bakelite come in a ready-to-mix form?  This bracelet is hand-made. Well made I might add.

It appears that the bakelite while warm was placed inside a metal (possibly silver) bracelet, smoothed and formed and then rolled over a design of tiny glass beads, diamond-cut mirrors, and other tiny decorations. The pattern repeats itself and is embedded around the outside. Nothing is missing either.

Inside the word INDIA is pressed into the pink bakelite.

Has anybody seen these? Know anything about them, value, etc.?

I'm wondering if perhaps a Hindu dancer wore it? The mirrors sparkle just like diamonds.

Tom
