Vintage 1930's Cotton Swallows Nest Quilt!

Beautiful colors of yellow, gold, green, blue, pink, lavender, and aqua, are on a rose pink colored background. There are cotton feedsacks, prints, and solid colored fabrics, from the 1930's. The back and binding, is covered with a lovely print. The binding is hand sewn, and the hand quilting is done in a swirled pattern, about 6-7 stitches psi. This beautiful quilt measures 92" long x 60" wide.
Each patterned block is 8 1/4" across x 8 1/4" high. It is a medium weight quilt. There are quilter's pencil marks, and the quilt feels crisp and clean, so I do not think it was ever used. This beautiful quilt would complement any romantic, cottage style, country, or eclectic decor.
It's a great piece of textile history! Oh, the stories it could tell!

Dianne, thank you so much for posting the two vintage chenille bedspread ads! I have quite a few chenille bedspreads in my collection, but I wish I could've spent $6.89 instead of up to $150.00 for one! LOL A couple of my favorite ones only cost me around $46.00, and about $65.00 respectively, on ebay auctions! They are from about the 1940's.
I did have a towel bath mat, with an online 1950's Sear's advertisement  (that I made a copy of), that I had sold at my Etsy shop.  Take care, Diane :O)

Deanna, thank you so much for posting your vintage quilt top! It is gorgeous!

Dianne, thanks for posting the 1940's quilts collector book! That is one of my favorite decades for vintage, as it has so much WWII history! That book is definitely on my amazon.com wish list! :O)

This is an old basket pattern patchwork quilt top made probably in the 1930s - 1940s.  This is a multi colored piece made during a time when quilters used whatever scrap of fabric they had to construct beautiful bedcovers.  This piece is currently for sale at the Vintage Touch online store at:  http://www.ecrater.com/p/13492710/vtg-patchwork-basket-pattern-quil...
