There are a lot of people who collect timepieces, but are finding it more and more difficult to have them cleaned, repaired or identified. We hope anyone who has expertise in this area will chime in when someone needs help with their jewelry, mantle clocks, floor clocks, wall clocks, etc. Oh... and have a good time while doing it!

Hi Randi,

No, the only messages I have received about this 'ol clock was through private emails until Vicki's post. One private email believed 1890 and was going to try and do further research. I thought a bit earlier. Oh Vicki, the clock ticks and I have not taken it in to anyone yet for cleaning or a once over. It is missing the one o'clock piece. I was advised that good bronze will have that "green" look

Hi Vicki, I bought a new clock book and the closest mark I could find was Longines. The hour glass with wings. Don't they only do watches? Yes, it is a bronze clock. There was something in my research awhile back that made me think a world fair piece, but dunno.

1829 to 1941 clockmaker is all I can come up with. I have two clock books, but can't find this maker in either one. It looks like Bronze? Any antique figural clocks bring nice $$. And it's beautiful! Does it still work?

It turns a bit greenish with the flash. Normal lighting it is dark. From what I understand, J.E. Calwell was/is a high end retailer. Someone else sent me this link and info where the roosters shape is very similar:

Hi Vicki, See if this one is any better. Very heavy to move and difficult to photograph. Yes, it is a clock..

Hi, Is this a clock? I don't see the face or hands anywhere? Am I missing something? It's an awesome piece by the way!

I just noticed clicking on the link below didn't work. Can anyone tell me anything about the mark on the clock?

In my old Delineator Book, (By Butterick Publishing Co) dated, September, 1893, National Mfg. & Importing Co. Chicago IL, are advertising 14 KT gold plated, carved pocket watches for $2.50. The price is a little different than today. Wish I could photo it, but writing is to small to read.
