This thin cardboard picture is 11" long and 4" wide. At the bottom of the picture it says "Compliments of THE YOUTH COMPANION". On the reverse side is a number 1827 (which I take to be the date - correct me if I'm wrong) surrounded by a wreath and torch . Any idea of the value of this?

think that is to early of a date for the outfit, prob a number of the print

Hi Lillian - The Youth Companion was a paper/magazine introduces in 1827 and folded in the early 1929. The 1827 is simply the year it was founded and not the date of your card. Color did not come into play until the late 1870s. The card itself is a portion of a larger piece as it appears to have been cut - possibly a calendar.   Had it been intact and based on condition - this would be very collectible. The material is Chromolithograph so your looking at a calendar somewhere around the turn of the century.  Value very minimal but still collectible.
