Meet Your Moderator Bev Hamel Of Antiques in Bethania

I was born a paper junkie and this was my very first collection - my father had a shop in Lahaska Pa for many years offering paper collectibles - so the trait was inherited. This stuff literally oozes out of every space imaginable in my office area - I cant bear to part with it or sell it!

Bible themed postcards. These were published by the Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society. Researching them I discovered that this Society toured with a slide show in the early 1900s called "The Photo-Drama of Creation". These postcard sized pictures were made from the slides and include scenes from the Old and New Testaments as well as doctrinal themes. One of the pictures depicts Jesus on a cross. The current belief is that Jesus did not die on a cross, a doctrine that was changed by the Watch Tower in the 1930s, so these cards have to predate that. I have 19 of the series, most are colored, but a few are sepia toned.

A difficult item to find: This children's magzine from 1921.  It's hard to believe that it was able to survive this long but it did & it is charming indeed.  For details and purchase information click on: http://iantiqueonline.ning.com/photo/c1921-john-martins-child?conte...

If you like old advertising pieces which really give you a look into the history of our lives, you will enjoy this advertising booklet heralding the merits of Bon-Tone Tonic.  This booklet is currently for sale at the Vintage Touch online store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/12953346/old-bon-tone-tonic-adver...

The Political Memorabilia group is starving for attention. Is there anyone in this group who would like to assume the moderator position of Political Memorabilia?  Please also consider joining that group and posting articles, discussions, photos. Thanks
