A great old antique cast iron flat iron that was essential to do the laundry in the 19th century. Not exactly convenient when you consider that the iron had to be heated on a burner and then used while still hot. A piece of laundry history. Currently available at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/14669284/antique-cast-iron-sad-flat
This is a nice unopened box of Octagon soap powder. These old soap powders are getting harder & harder to find unopened. This piece is availabe for sale at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/10995928/octagon-soap-powder-unop...
Little girls have always had play time that resembled mom's chores. During the time before electricity, women used sad irons for ironing clothes. A great invention came along when the irons came with removeable slugs that were heated on the stove, and then snapped into place so the garment could be ironed while the iron was hot, and then another heated slug was inserted when the first was no longer hot. This little iron is a toy replica of the one that a mom used. It is a Dover Dolly iron with removeable slug. A dear little piece currently for sale at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/14157891/antique-dover-dolly-sad-...
From the days when the philosphy was "waste not want not" is this handy device called a 'soap saver'. Bits of soap were placed in this basket and it was then swished in water to create suds, thus utilizing soap bits that would otherwise be too small for use. This piece is currently for sale at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/14106837/vtg-metal-soap-saver-penny
Another nice Laundry Day collectible from times gone by...a blue and white (graphically appealing) Argo starch box (unopened and full). This piece is currently for sale at the Vintage Touch ONLINE store at: http://deannamoyers.ecrater.com/p/14062324/vtg-argo-1lb-starch-blue
