A very interesting and informative article on proper dress for the mid-Victorian man, from Victoriana Magazine:

Nothing says "Elaborate" like the Victorian period of time.  You are invited to watch this slide show of Victorian era clothes, shoes, etc. (ladies & childrens).  For details of any of the items, please click on the individual photo.

Thank you for watching.

A victorian era gift that I think would make a great idea for the antique lover for Mother's Day are 'Mother' of Pearl antique pieces.  Below is a beautiful early 1900s silver plate serving spoon with mother of pearl handle dated 1908.  For details and how to purchase click on: http://iantiqueonline.ning.com/photo/dated-apr17-1908-mop-handle?co...

Happy Mother's Day to Mother's Everywhere!

Welcome, Ralph. We're almost neighbors. I'm from east central New York near Albany. In fact. my father's family is from the Allentown area.

Hi,

I am new to this site and I thought I would join some of the groups that interest me. I am a collector/dealer in NE Pa. and have been so for the last 45 years. Love to buy and sell Victorian.

I have a Victorian style sofa and love seat I've been trying to sell the past three years. Nobody wants upholstered furniture, even antique dealers, especially since they would have to have it reupholstered. If I have it done, it would make the price I would have to ask exorbitant. What is the bast way to market these frayed items?
