Need help with ID & age of Naval Button
Hello,
I have about 40 US Navy Uniform buttons from my grandfather who served from 1906-1943. I've been able to ID most of them but there are 2 buttons that just look nicer than any of the others and the backmark is an anchor followed by dots then an octopus surrounding the shank. I haven't been able to find any info on this backmark and I was hoping someone might be able to help. It is pre 1941 with a left facing eagle perched on a horizontal anchor.

Robin, research indicates your button is Navy, WW II, Style 12. 1941-45.(+/-). Brass plated over tin.
