It's really delicate. Someone told me it's a souvenier. It's supposed to have something attached to its mouth to hang it for display. I knew it definately wasn't something to use for tackle!

I'm trying to figure out what this fish is and any info on it. It pivots as there are lead pins through each section. It looks like there are many intricate pieces of the inside of oyster shells maybe?? It is 8 inches long. The mouth looks silver plated. Does anyone know anything about this piece? Thanks

Frank, I have 8 fly reels (4 auto, 4 crank). Would love to sell them. CHEAP, CHEAP. One of the Automatics, the maroon one belonged to my dad. It no longer works; I think it is just dirty. As a kid we would pull out the line, tie to things and then play with the cat; as the cat would pounce we would pull the trigger and the object (a cat nip thing) would shoot away from kitty! LOL The other 7 all work fine. Most have line on them. If interested I can post pix. Let me know.

From a decorators view. In a display case with selected attractive pieces will always draw attention. Strategically placing around your location attract attention and move inventory. Not so unlike a marble display offering so much color and beauty to look at. Rare tackle does not necessarily require a box or one in mint condition to bring the money in. However as with most collectbles availability and condition do play a factor. See discussion "Is there any money in fishing collectibles?"

QUESTION: Do you collectors collect old fishing lures, spinners, flatfish, poppers, etc. that are used and not "mint in box"? I have a bunch of them that I would like to sell but nobody seems interested.

Welcome!

What a nice job Dianne does as an editor of I Antique Online! She certainly nailed my “look” on this groups icon image. A few years back anyway! (hehe) I knew Dianne was talented but I sure didn't know she was an artist. I can feel the movement. Thumbs up Dianne!

O.K. Folks "LETS GO FISHING"!
That is one of the best retreats my family and I have here in Florida when we just need to get away. This is a passion for so many people that touches the heart. Remember Andy and Opie with fishing rod and reel in hand? That is real family moments to treasure forever.

Many have started their personal collections out of things that were dear to their hearts and it eventually took them in a direction to be able to work and make a living with the things that they love.

I had a call yesterday from Dave Perkins, Dave Perkins of the DFD Duluth Fish Decoys. It gave me an opportunity to tell him how much he was appreciated for the work and effort he has put into creating his beautiful decoys. I let him know that I was a huge fan and a collector. I hope to be meeting up with him in a week or two. Dave turned something he loved into something he could share with the world. This is also something he was able to pass on to his son. This is a passion shared by so many others.

I will be sharing a few of my pieces with everyone.

This group is all about fishing collectibles so “Lets Talk Fish" and all that implies!
