I have quite a few of the Little Golden Books from the 40's to the 90's but only have a few listed. Since the market is pretty much saturated with them, they seem to all have the same value whether old or 70's-90's. Is this the game plan in selling Little Golden Books - $3-$5, like old sheet music?
Hi Ellene, the answer to your question is both "yes, and No" -LOL Not what you wanted to hear right?
The VENUE is of utmost importance here! You have a couple things going on, price wise, with all books in general: "Retail, Fair Market, Wholesale" are the main ones. Generally speaking, as in most things:
"Older is better". Second "rarity equals value" almost always! Next where are you selling?
Is it an antique mall, ebay or a specialized website for books and ephemera only? Such as Abebooks.com out of Canada? I've been selling on that site for over ten years.
I would NEVER put anything but the very best/Rarest/Most expensive books on ebay! Any other books go for less than "wholesale" and that's not what we want, is it?
If it's an antique mall, same holds true. If you check abe for your prices first, then go about 1/2, you should do well in that setting. If your on a books only site - you go just under the other sellers of the same book! etc........
That seems to be the "key to success" for me anyways! They are wonderful, and I hope that helps ya a bit!
