Sharon Potts has been a collector of kitsch and vintage design for 25 years and is the owner of Kitschy Koo Vintage Collectibles, a website that celebrates the beauty and function of vintage design for the home: 1930s through 1970s. She has also been a prop master and buyer for the film and television industry for 15 years and feeds her collecting habit while searching for movie props.

I think there is a difference between "cute" and kitsch. I can't help thinking anything produced after, maybe, the early 70s wouldn't be considered kitsch. In other words, it would have to be vintage and tasteless, not contemporary, which I'm assuming your items are? Can you post a pic?

Do a three-foot-tall pink flamingo in flip flops and a small cast iron piggy waiter holding what lookslike a soup bowl that's really a candle holder count for kitsch? When people see them, I get either, "Oh, isn't that (cute, funny, ridiculous)...I love it!" or one of those deadpan eyerolls;) Kat

Isn't he cute? He's a bobble type child's tumbler. I wonder if there was some sort of "hat" lid? Is this familiar to anyone?
